I like them too but only when I feel melancholy.
I took down 99% of my decorations this morning, the 1% stay out all year long.
This weekend I'll set out my Thanksgiving stuff.

Ha ha ha ha! What is 1% of your decoration that is staying out there all year long? What do you have? I'd like to know.

I can't say that I feel meloncolly, because for me, a yar is nothing, but I will be taking all of my Halloween decorations down tonight when I get home from work. It is a little sad that Halloween 2010 is over, but I still have Halloween 2011 to look forward to, and that is not as far away as you would think. This whole year went by like a bullet train. It seems that only a little while ago it was New Years Day, and I was taking down my Christmas decorations and saing "sianara" to Christmas of 09. When I was a kid, I did use to get really depressed on that first day back to school after Christmas vacation was over. I no longer get that way any more, but I do hate January and February with a passion. That two-month post Christmas winter season is really a bummer for me.

I agree. I used to love winter as a child, but as an adult, I have grown more fond of days with longer daylight. (Not necessarily summer heat though!)
Back on topic, this month did go by quite fast. Maybe is a combo of the anticipation of the 31st, being busy with things to do, and the daylight getting shorter and shorter.

And May 13th is on a Friday in 2011, so we will have "Little Halloween" in late Spring next year.
As for January and February, I hated it even as a kid. I did use to go sledding and do Winter activities to alleviate the boredom, but there was little daylight, and school often took it's toll.

That's going to be really very cool to watch Halloween and Horror movies!

Also, we will put up fake pumpkin lights on Friday The 13th!
