Andy makes a good point. Everytime a teenager does something bad, you hear about it. Everytime some one is injured or killed in a motorcyclign accident, you hear about it. Nevermind all the countless deaths and injuries cause by cars. Everytime some one is injured by fireworks, the news is calling for more laws against it. Teenagers have been getting a 'bum rap' pretty much since the late 60s, because of the few "bad apples" spoiling it fo everyone else. When I was in high school, the seniors allways enjoyed certain privilages, one of which was to leave school to go to the local restaurants for lunch. It was that way through my entire freshman, sophmore and junior year. I was so looking forward to being allowed to go to McDonalds instead of choking down the same old cafeteria dreck, and then because there were about 3 or 4 incidences of seniors going to lunch and not comming back to school, the rules were changed, and the privinage was revoked, FOR MY CLASS. WE WERE NOT ALLOWED TO GO OFF CAMPUS FOR LUNCH BECAUSE OF WHAT PREVIOUS SENIORS DID. Well, I guess life is not allways fair.
As for that kid who ran over the kiktten, again, that was not at all about being a teenager, or rebelling against authority or anything of the kind, That was about sadism, cruelty and violence. It was not being a teenager that made that kid do what he did. IT was a mean streak within his nature, that probably existed in his nature when he was a little kid, and I fear it will be a part of him when he's an adult. In fact, I worry more about what he will do as an adult then I do about what he will do while he's still a teenager. Serial killers are of this kid's ilk, and I often wonder if his name will be heard on "American Justice," or some other show like that, about how he used his car as a weapon to be a serial killer.

Yeah you make excellent points, Mike. It's a shame that the media doesn't cover all the good work teenagers do.
