It's against the law to put out Halloween Decorations 5-6 months in advance? Shame on them!
On a serious note, I doubt they'd call the cops on me. They might have me dragged off to the looney bin though...or just plain think I'm a nut case.

I'm not saying it's illegal... Though if you put out a hanging skeleton and halloween decorations before it was Halloween, people would probably think you were a Satanist.

Really? I should try that just to see what reaction I'd get out of people.
Shoot, people have skulls and stuff hanging in their cars and motercycles, why couldn't I put one outside?

Usualy the last week of September, right after I clean up the house a little first. I like to be sure everything is dusted and the rugs are all vaccumed and the floors are clean before I put out the decorations.

I don't know about that.

In any case, I may try it when I get my own place.

I like to start clean except for cobwebs.

I let them go 2 months before.

1: spiders eat flying bugs that spread disease and
2: Nothing beats the real thing

It's just an old internet argument that people have going: Pirates or Ninjas.

How about Necromancers? Those are pretty Halloweeny. I mean, they use magic to bring the dead back to life as zombies and walking skeletons.

even though these aren't decorations, per se; I had to share with my haunted bretheren.

They arrived this morning and I'm wearing them at the office.

I usually am working on it all year (I make some of my own props), but start dragging it out of the attic around the last week of August. Start decorating the outside first, and work towards the inside, as the outside is the hardest and most time consuming (Fell off ladder one year). Usually done decorating by the end of the first week of September.

Now, we usually have all our candy by the 2nd week of October. We got to our local Wal-Mart, Tops, Price Chopper and P&C and buy what's now turned into like 6 or 7 candy stands (the cardboard halloween themed ones) with all of the candy still in it (Along with about 20 more bags of candy), and set them outside with our decorations and the kids can chose any of their liking. We on average, about 100 kids per halloween night. The most I've ever had was 300, 3 years ago. Last year, we (my now ex and I) came up with the idea to haunt the inside of our house and the back yard, and charge $5 for adults, $1 for kids, and anyone under 5 got in free. At the end of the night we made something like $300, and I just used it towards more decorations for this year.
