Halloween Discussion Forums, Costumes, Horror!

Great to see all the new faces! I'm not especially good at keeping up with this thread, but I do hope to see the lot of you on the boards. =)

Hi folks:

I'm new to the Halloween forum, and I thought I would give you all a little run-down on why I'm here and why I love Halloween so much. It is my favorite day of the year.

First of all, Ilive in Dwight Illinois, about 70 or so miles south of Chicago, which is where I'm originaly from. My love affair with Halloween began when I was 5 years old, at 111th and Central Park, at a little farm stand where pumpkins were sold. Every day, while on my way to Keller elementery for Kindergartn, (now that school is the Chicago High School of Agricultural Sciences) I would pass by those pumpkins, and the magic feeling that I would get was wonderful.

Every year after that, even when I started going to St. Christina's, I would deliberate vary my route so I could walk by the pumpkins every late September and early October, and then it would be time for me to walk in and buy my Halloween pumpkins. Every year, until 1977 when we moved to New Lenox, I would do this as part of my tradition.

I still have plenty of decorations up by Sept 30th, and I allways have freshly carved Jack O'Lanterns around through out the whole month of Octiber, but nothing beats those bygone days when an importan decision was what I was going to be for Halloween. Now a days I enjoy Halloween from the other side of the door, as I hand out "Trick or Treat" candy.

So I am happy to be joining in on all the fun, and I will be here all year around, not just in September and October.

I'm from the UK and nearly always online right through the night when it's day for most of you
I also LOVE halloween although it doesnt have much of a big thing made of it in the UK like in the USA but I deffinately make a big thing of it by decorating my house and getting new stuff every year to make it even better.
I'm already looking forward to this years halloween and browsing round the shops for ideas already!


My favourite part of halloween is all the decorating then turning everything on and walking through my 'haunted house'
