    I did swap out the backend and now I think that Facebook, Apple, WordPress, GitHub and Disqus are working reliably. Google and Reddit are using the old backend which seemed to be problematic so I am going to disable them for now.

    It may take time to rebuild.

    What Google and Youtube (Twitter, FB etc) have done is disgusting. I am working on the social login stuff. It sometimes works, sometime doesn’t when nothing changes on the server.

    It may be the social login being an issue. Sometimes just email registration is best.

    Reliance on big tech sucks – even for something as (presumably) simple as login.
